What changed

CMS opened the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge demonstration on 1 July 2026, fixing the beneficiary copay at $50 a month for covered GLP-1 prescriptions through 31 December 2027.

What it means

For a beneficiary who qualifies, this is the lowest figure on our Wegovy cost page by a factor of four, and it is the first fixed GLP-1 price in the category that is not set by a seller. It also puts a date on the cliff: the program ends, and nothing published so far says what replaces it.
